The weaving process includes machine weaving (also called shuttle weaving), knitting, weaving and nonweaving, with knitting divided into warp knitting and weft knitting. Warp knitting is a kind of textile technology belonging to the field of knitting. A knitted fabric is formed by using one or several groups of parallel yarns to form loops at the same time on all the working needles fed into the machine. This method is called warp knitting, and the knitted fabric formed is called warp knitting fabric.
Knitting is a method of forming fabric, which is called knitted fabric. Knitted fabrics are made of coils snaring each other. Knitted fabrics can be divided into warp knitted fabrics and weft knitted fabrics according to the direction of the yarn in the fabric. Warp knitting and weft knitting get their names from machine weaving. Weaving is the oldest textile technology. Woven fabrics are made by interweaving longitudinal warp and transverse weft. In warp knitted fabrics, the same yarn forms a coil along the warp (longitudinal) direction of the fabric; In weft braided fabrics, the same yarn forms a series of coils along the weft direction (transverse) of the fabric. Only one (or a limited number of) yarns are needed to form a weft knitted fabric, while a group or groups of yarns are needed to form a warp knitted fabric, each consisting of many yarns.
